Start or stop a paper deployment via PUT /v2/paper-deployment/{id}/status. action 'start' begins paper trading from pending/stopped; 'stop' halts it from running. alive_until (optional, ISO-8601 with timezone) is applied when starting. start is rejected while another paper deployment is active (one active slot per user) — stop the other first. No real funds are involved, so no real-money gate — but CONFIRM stops explicitly so a Steward's running trial is not killed by accident. BUILD-TIME optional-placeholder note: alive_until is optional and templated above; if the platform's body templating cannot omit an unset optional placeholder cleanly, fall back to the required-only bodyTemplate '{"action":"{0}"}' for v1. Supports filtering by status, pagination, and optional inclusion of code/config. status 'running' is the one-active-slot check before creating a new paper trial. with_code/with_config are 'true'|'false' STRINGS (default 'true'); pass 'false' on both to trim heavy fields for quick listings. All five query params are optional; if the wrapper cannot omit unset query placeholders cleanly, the BUILD-TIME fallback to the bare path /v2/paper-deployment applies (server defaults) and filtering happens client-side. Query a running paper bot's read-only Freqtrade endpoints via GET /v2/paper-deployment/{id}/{paperDeploymentEndpoint}. Allowlisted endpoints only: profit, trades, status, count, entries, exits, performance, balance, daily, weekly, stats. Query params are forwarded to the underlying endpoint. This is the monitoring surface for paper trials — profit for the headline, trades for fills, stats for aggregates. The deployment must be running; a stopped bot's endpoints are unavailable. MONITORING BUDGET: poll status roughly every 30 seconds ONLY while the Steward is actively watching, at most 10 minutes per session; otherwise check on request. Errors: 400 (endpoint not in the allowlist), 401, 404, 502 (bot unreachable — check the deployment's status before retrying). Rename a backtest via PATCH /v2/backtesting/{id}. Purely housekeeping: helps the Steward keep iteration series legible ('BTC 5m Trend v3'). No effect on status, results, or execution.
